Best East Van Activities

Share Article

East Vancouver has a lot of great Family Fun activities, including some of Vancouver’s best festivals and city wide events (like all the Car Free Days, Italian Day, and more!). Take a look at our page for the Best East Van Parks as well.

COMMUNITY CENTRE

The honour here goes to Hillcrest Community Centre in Riley Park. It is big, with a large pool, kids swim area, lazy river, sauna, steam room and more, an ice rink, gymnasiums, tons of programs for kids, families and adults and a large area for outdoor sports.

PITCH & PUTT GOLF

Rupert Park Pitch and Putt takes this award. Being just out of the downtown core in Hastings East, you’ll find the people who play here are serious Pitch n Putter’s (unlike the Stanley Park course which tends to be filled with people who have never played before). It’s one of the more challenging, and longer courses as well.

FAMILY FUN

Why not enjoy a day at the ballpark watching your Vancouver Canadians play baseball? Located at the Nat Bailey Stadium near Hillcrest Community Centre, our AAA affliates to the Toronto Blue Jays play every summer against other teams in the Pacific Northwest region. Always a hit with families, corporate parties and East Van residents alike, it’s a great way to enjoy a warm summer’s night out.

FARMERS MARKET

Offering a big summer and winter market, we’ll have to go with the Farmer’s Market at Nat Bailey Stadium. You’ll be able to find everything from locally grown fruits and vegetables, artisan made sausages, ice cream, soups and more, home baked pastries, food trucks and handmade goods. Talk to the vendors, their passion for their home grown/made goods is unmistakeable.
