Here is a great “Before and After” example of how older condo buildings can be modernized. This building near Commercial Drive, 1429 William St, was rainscreened in 2011 with new siding, balconies, windows and doors.
The before shot (below) isn’t a great photo itself, but it shows how much better a building can look after the work has been done. An envelope project is expensive, one that a majority of owners need to approve, but the peace of mind you (and future Buyers) can have in a well-maintained building along with the value increase you’ll see makes the project worthwhile.
