Developed by Westbank, Woodwards is a massive new development in Vancouver that was completed in 2009. The complex has two towers: 108 W Cordova (W-32) and 128 W Cordova (W-43) with 366 units over 43 floors in W-43 and 172 units over 32 floors in W-32.
Woodwards was originally a Department store built in 1908, and eventually re-developed about 100 years later. The Development retained a small portion of the heritage building in addition to two new concrete towers with a mix of 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and “skylofts” as well. There are a number of floor plans throughout the building, many with phenomenal views thanks to it being one of the highest towers in the area and close to the water.
Amenities in the building are incredible. There is a large lounge + kitchen + pool table + gym + rock wall + outdoor kitchen + patio + hot tub + great views which is for use of all the residents. The buildings include concierge service as well.
One of the biggest notes on this building is that there aren’t many parking spots available in the building. The Developer secured a 10 year lease on parking stalls across the street in the parkade for residents, but that lease will need to be renewed soon and it’s not nearly as convenient as having a space in the building. Some units don’t have a spot in either location.
Residents can enjoy the conveniences in the building like the London Drugs and Nesters Market, with a plethora of FANTASTIC restaurants, bars and coffee shops nearby. You are in the heart of Gastown when you’re at Woodwards, so some of the best nightlife is nearby, as well as great transit options and clothing shops.
